Cacao – Food Of The Gods

For thousands of years, Cacao has been revered as a sacred plant and used medicinally, however, over the centuries with advancements in mass processing techniques and the addition of sugar and milk, cacao’s health benefits have largely been lost and it has become little more than a confectionery for the sweet-toothed.

But in recent times Cacao ceremonies have grown in popularity and is now being consumed by many for its properties known to improve mood and provide feelings of bliss. But don’t just take our word for it. To the fact seekers amongst you scientists have discovered that Cacao’s effects on increased blood flow, both to the heart and the brain, are thought to play a major role in the purported health benefits of this ancient remedy.

Most plant-based foods are rich in flavonoids. You will have heard us mention this before. CBD is loaded with flavonoids. Flavonoids have a whole bunch of benefits when consumed regularly including, but not limited to:

• Neuroprotective properties

• Improved cognitive function

• Improved concentration

• Improved memory

• Lowering blood pressure

• Increasing good cholesterol

After we learned this it made perfect sense to combine our Full-spectrum CBD with ethically sourced Cacao paste to make our own chocolate. Cacao is one of the most nutrient dense foods on the planet, with each bean containing around 1200 benevolent compounds. The beans I source from the Peruvian jungle are fermented and sundried, instead of being roasted at high temperature. Roasting at very high temperature destroys most of the benevolent compounds. The beans I use are stone ground here in Scotland and blended with organic coconut sugar, dried fruits, nuts, food grade essential oil and spices. No dairy or unnecessary emulsifiers and preservative."
